Thank You

Today Connor woke up and handed me something. I told him "Xie Xie" (Thank you in Chinese). I have been trying to teach him to say thank you when he receives stuff. This morning, I heard for the first time "Xie Xie" after I said it. From my baby boy Connor. It was very clearly pronounced. Then after that, he told me he wanted to drink water. He's learning more and more words. Still single sound at a time. But there is my baby boy, telling me "Xie Xie"!!

On the Walking Thing

Connor was a late walker. Before Thanksgiving 2010, his choice of moving around is crawling. There are times we went to play ground where other kids younger and smaller than he was walked around him and there was Connor still crawling.

The week before Thanksgiving, one night, we were playing in our living room as usual. I put Connor down 3 steps in front of his Daddy. I put him feet down first. He normally would just sit down and crawl to Daddy. But that time, he took three steps and got to Daddy's hands. We couldn't believe it. Something clicked. Thanksgiving, we went to Ozark. He started walking more and more in that week's time. When we came back from Thanksgiving, he walks to places when he could. He'd walk from one place where he could hold on to something to the next.

Dec 2010, Connor got better and better at walking. He started off liking to raise his hands in the air to balance himself. Beginning of 2011, his hands comes down more and more.

Now he's a good little walker. He can claim. He walks everywhere.

Here is my little boy. Walking!
